(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Islamic Unity Week is indisputably the idea of the Father of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini, who as one of the great reformers took this dynamic move to foster solidarity in the Muslim World.
The Unity Week Conference in Kerala was organized by Thaqalayn Foundation- a newly established Islamic Intellectual platform. The events held on 12th February 2012, Sunday starting at 2pm. The conference witnessed the active representation of dignitaries from all Islamic Schools of thought.
The programs inaugurated by Sayyid Hameed Ali Shihad Thangal- a well known and widely revered Sunni leader in Kerala- at the esteemed presence of Hijjatul Islam wa Muslimeen Moulana Dr. Sheikh Mehdi Mehdavipour – the chief Indian sub-continent representative of Walifaqih Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei.
In his inaugural speech Sayyid Hameed Ali pin pointed the role of such events like Unity Conference in the empowerment of Islamic society and thanked the organizers of conducting the event. Moulana Mehdavipour explained the history and the impact of Unity Week by taking present day Muslim world issues.
Hujjatul Islam Moulana Gulam Mohammed Mehdi Khan – the chief Shi’i Qzi of Government of Tamil Nadu warned the hidden dangers behind disunity and the vested-interest of people who widen the gap between Sunni and Shia.
M.P. Faisal, the delegate from Jamaat E Islami Al Hind reminded the historical brotherhood which Imam Khomeini and Jamaat Islami founder Moulana Moudoodi had during the time of revolution. He also spoke about the role of Jamaat E Islami in unifying Muslim Ummah.
T.A. Ahmed Kabeer- the member of Kerala Legislative Assembly praised the role of Imam Khomeini by being the supreme source of inspiration to Muslims world, regardless of Sunni and Shia segregation. He also spoke about the requirement of unity to end the violence between Sunni and Shia.
Moulana Sayyid Taqi Naqavi – Deputy of Moulana Mehdi Mehdavipour congratulated Thaqalayn Foundation for conducting this landmark event and explained about the need of such events to enhance the community.
The Unity Conference also witnessed the unveiling ceremony of Thaqalayn Foundation Logo. Logo released by Moulana Mehadi Mehdavipour along with T.A. Ahmed Kabeer MLA at the presence of the dignitaries.
Janab C. Hamza Sahib- the renowned Islamic Intellectual and prominent philosopher and orator of Kerala gave the presidential address and brief on Thaqalayn Foundation the function. Janaab Hamza is the patron of Thaqalayn Foundation.
